Slovak women's bonnets

Women's headdresses worn with the hair wound around structures so that they form a 'horn' shape were found over much of Eastern Europe. I was surprised to find the practice still alive in Slovakia, albeit only found among old women and at folk festivals. Presented here are several regions' worth of bonnets, not representative of anything other than what I personally found in the places I went to.

A further bonus was that in one bonnet-rich village, I managed to learn to make the local bobbin lace. Slovak bobbin lace is very highly sophisticated, and many regions incorporate colored threads in the lace.
